When Madelyn turned 8 we told her she could get her ears pierced! She was so excited! Jon and I had planned to take her out for a birthday dinner and to get her ears pieced, but after I told her it would hurt a little she decided she didn't want to do it and we just left her alone.
This past week she started talking about it again and decided she was ready! Jon and I agreed that we would take her on Saturday to get it done. We went to the Fashion Show mall and we went straight to Claire's. Jon and I both thought she would chicken out, but she didn't! We let her pick the ear rings she wanted and she decided on the pink flowers!
The girls that did it were very nice and did it quick! Thankfully there were two girls there so they were able to do both sides at the same time. 1, 2, 3...
She didn't cry, but she did say it stung a lot!
This is the only picture that I got after! She was still in a little pain after a few minutes, but nothing a Taylor Swift song couldn't take care of! Just before getting up from the chair one of her favorite songs came on the radio, "You Belong With Me" and she just started singing it while the girl was giving instructions for taking care of her ears! Needless to say I think she was over the pain! What about Carson and Aubrey? What were they doing while we were watching Madelyn? They were trying on sunglasses and running over to show us which ones looked the best!
I love the John Lennon or Ozzy Osbourne look that Aubrey has going on!

Carson loved trying all the sunglasses on! Yes, we live in Vegas, it's the middle of summer and he chose to wear a long sleeve shirt and jeans today! He was making me hot just looking at him!

I didn't even notice her ears on Saturday. Megan finally decided to get her ears pierced last year. Everything was great for a few months then she got a pretty nasty infection. She took them out and has refused to put them in ever since. She now tells me she never wants pierced ears. I hope Madelyn has better luck.

Aw, that is so neat. I think it was very smart to have them done at the same time. The after picture is "priceless".
