I am so thankful for so many father's in my life, but I am most thankful for Jon and the great Father he is to our kids! I am thankful for all the sacrifices he makes in putting our kids first! The kids get so excited and run to the back door when they hear the garage door open when he gets home at night! Each of the kids enjoy spending time with their dad! Madelyn loves to sit down and read with Jon after dinner. Carson likes to play card games or the wii with him. Aubrey likes to be the boss and tell dad he is wrong and try to convince him she is right (even when he is right), which is quite funny to watch! She also likes to curl up on the couch and cuddle with him!
This morning we had to be to church a few minutes early since Jon had to speak. Is it right to have Dads speak Father's Day? We were all quickly getting ready, except Carson! Jon told Carson, "You need to speed it up, you're moving too slow." In which Aubrey responded, "but Dad it's not fast Sunday!" We all got a laugh from that!
When Jon was asked to speak he was told to prepare a talk between 6 and 20 minutes! Jon was prepared to speak for 20 minutes, but was also prepared for however much time was left since he was the last speaker! Jon was able to come sit down by me while the primary children sang and at that time it was 10am and he leaned over and said, "we should just end it here!" Time was gone, but Jon didn't get out of speaking! Jon spoke of the example of his dad, my dad, and many father figures from the scriptures. He closed with one of my favorite poems "The Race". He did a wonderful job, like always! He make it look so easy!
After church we gave Jon some presents! The kids had made gifts at school and Sis. Marvian's and they helped me get some of his favorite things and put them in this bucket! Jon, thanks for being a Great Dad! We Love you!
Bucket contents: soda, heath bars, turkey jerky, black licorice, wing sauce, and a shirt
