School drama and school hasn't even started!

I have known for a little while that I would be applying for nursing school for spring of 2010. Knowing that Jon and I started considering what we would do with Carson and Aubrey during the day if I was accepted into the program. That is when we heard about the tuition based all day Kindergarten program at Scott. So in April I went to Scott Elementary and sign Carson up for all day Kindergarten and applied for a zone variance for Madelyn. In May I received a call that Carson would be in the Kindergarten program and I needed to pay the deposit, so I paid the deposit at the end of May. I also received approval from the school district for Madelyn's zone variance to go to Scott in the Fall. I thought we were all set and just waiting on our classroom assignments!

WRONG! Today I called Scott to find out why we haven't received class assignments and I was told that Madelyn and Carson aren't enrolled there for the 2009-2010 school year! The woman told me Madelyn's zone variance won't go into effect until September, Carson is on the waiting list for the all day kindergarten program, and they should be enrolled at Hayden! WHAT!? Are you kidding me! This is the first time anyone has mentioned there is a waiting list for all day kindergarten and that Madelyn wouldn't be able to go to Scott until September! School starts in less than a week and I had to call to get this information! Her reply was, "I'm sorry the clerk didn't call you." I tried to explain what I had been told back in April and she just told me I would have to go and enroll at Hayden! By this time I was so furious and panicking at the same time, that I didn't know what to do!

I quickly called Carmen at Hayden and she was more than willing to help me and in a matter of minutes she was able to get the kids placed in classes and relieve some of my stress! I also made some phone calls to a few friends to make arrangements for Carson after school for the Fall semester. I'm not sure how this is going to work out if I get into nursing school in January, but for now I'm just taking it one day at a time. I am so thankful to everyone that has offered to help me with this crazy situation and at the last minute! They helped me calm down and realize that everything will work out. I really have the greatest friends that I always know I can count on which I am in a pinch!

Tomorrow I am going to go into Scott and talk to someone about what happened with Carson and the kindergarten program. Maybe things will work out how we have been planning for the past 3 months, but if not we will find a way to make it work!!
