Pictureless Mother's Day

This weekend wasn't the best weekend for celebrating Mother's day, since I was cramming for 2 finals! But, Jon helped me out tremendously and made it a special weekend! Mother's Day started on Saturday afternoon when Jon took the kids bowling and I headed to the library to study for my first final, Microbiology, and work on my case study! I had three hours at the library and then came home for a few more hours until they returned home.

When the kids returned home they were so excited to tell me all about bowling with dad! I forgot to ask Jon to try and get some pictures, but I think he probably had his hands full with them! All 3 of the kids got a strike, yes they had bumpers, but still impressive! Aubrey also managed to get a gutter ball! They had so much fun with Dad and couldn't stop talking about their outing!

Shortly after they got home we got a call from Miranda saying that she was on her way home and would be at our house shortly. Since I hadn't made anything for dinner, we all headed out to Garduno's for dinner! I love their chips and salsa! The food was good, but by the time we got home it was pretty late and we all worn out and hit the sack!

Sunday morning we overslept and actually missed sacrament meeting! We missed seeing Aubrey going up and singing with the Primary kids! I guess we'll get to see her on Father's day! Before church Madelyn gave me a flower pen she made at school and a book of coupons! Aubrey and Carson each gave me a dish towel with their hand prints that they made at preschool! Aubrey also made me a coupon book and a goody bag with the help of Sis. Marvian. While Jon was out with the kids on Saturday he took them to the mall to get me a gift! (Which he didn't need to do since he spoiled me on my birthday a few weeks earlier!) Jon said the kids all agreed that I would like something from build-a-bear! When they gave me the "Bear Condo", Jon said, "This is what they said you wanted!" I asked if it was a pink poodle or a unicorn, but it wasn't! It was my favorite "curly" brown bear! They dressed it in nursing scrubs and named her "nurse teddy"! This bear has not 1, or 2 hearts, but 4! One from each of the kids and one from Jon, he said the lady helping insisted! Jon also helped the kids record a message with the kids saying "Happy Mother's Day! I love you (Madelyn), I love you (Aubrey), I love you (Carson)!" I love it and I always thought it would be cool to get one as a gift! Jon also gave me a case for my camera and a card that sings, "You're Still the One"! Thank you guys for all the gifts and love!

We did make it to church in time for the second hour. Being in nursery I thought it would be nice to have the kids make something for their moms. I guess I could have taken the easy way out and just traced their hands to go with the little poem I found, but I thought it looks so much better with paint! Jon thought I was crazy, but I successfully got all 12 hand prints of our nursery kids on paper without getting red paint on them or myself!

After church Jon made a delicious Santa Maria style tri-tip dinner and I made Grandma McCune's Chocolate Cake for dessert! Thanks Jon for making me the luckiest wife and mom! Madelyn, Carson and Aubrey thanks for making me feel special! I am so blessed to be your Mom! I love you all!

Yes, Jon bought me a new camera for my birthday and I still didn't take any pictures of our weekend! I need to be better about that!
