The handle to our kitchen faucet came off a few months ago, but we have been careful with it, trying to make it last. This past week it finally gave up! The handle would no longer stay attached to the rest of the fixture and it was difficult to turn the water on and off or turn it from hot to cold.
We looked at a faucet at Costco and as we looked, Jon and I looked at each other and ask, "how hard do you think it will be to replace?" Right on the package it says "Easy to install!" Jon and I agreed that it couldn't be that hard and we bought one.
Friday night after dinner we started to take apart what was left of the existing kitchen faucet. Most of it came apart pretty easy, but shortly into our project we ran into some difficulty! There was one small bolt that we weren't able to get loose! It was preventing us from lifting the main body of the faucet off of the actual sink.
Jon and I took turns under the sink trying to loosen this one bolt! We tried using different wrenches and even go the dremel tool out, but nothing was working to get this thing taken apart! After trying for some time, 2+ hours, Jon was ready to give up! I said, "No, we are going to get this!" At which point Jon said, "I'm glad I married one of Clark McCune's daughters!" I didn't know how I should take that, but I took it as a compliment. If you knew my Dad, he is a hard working man and when there is a will there is a way! He can do anything, including turning a closet into a shower! There's nothing he can't do!
By this time it was almost 11pm and I think we were both tired and a little sleep deprived, because we were making comments and laughing at the dumbest things! Finally we were able to get it taken apart and the old faucet was gone and we were left with the 3 holes in the sink, so we could put the new faucet in! At this time we called it a night and went to bed!
Saturday morning after Carson's soccer game we came home and installed the new faucet! It didn't take long to get the new faucet installed, but again we ran into a leak. After some fidgeting and tinkering under the sink, it stopped leaking and we were finished! FINALLY!
The final product, fingerprints and all!

Our faucet has been leaking for months, but I still have put off replacing it. I saw those faucets a few days ago at Costco and was very tempted to buy one.
