Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving was busy, as we expected, with all of Jon's side of the family at our house! Jon and I had originally planned on having tri-tip and shrimp for Thanksgiving, but with everyone here we had a traditional turkey dinner! Yes, we cooked a whole turkey, a ham, mashed potatoes, a yam casserole, green beans, rolls and mud pie (you can't have Thanksgiving without mud pie!) Jon's mom made the stuffing and cranberry salad, Tammy made a spinach salad, Miranda made an apple pie and we bought a pecan pie (Dad Arnold's favorite). Jen and Nathan arrived with the boys just in time to sit down and eat all the yummy food and take the few pictures that I have from Thanksgiving day! Thanks Jen!

Black Friday

Jon and I have never been big on the Black Friday shopping, but this year Jon went with me to get a few things at the outlet mall, nothing really enticed us in the ads! We left just before midnight and didn't get home until 5:45 in the morning, at which time Jon took Andrew for Nic and Tammy! I can't believe we did it, but it was fun to hang out with him and have his opinion on things for the kids! I don't know that he will ever step into a Gymboree store after what we experienced there (total chaos with so many people and workers that couldn't get things right!)! But I think that our experience at the Van Hussen store takes the cake!

Long story short. Jon was in need of some dress shirts and we went to the back of the store where it said 50% off clearance prices, plus 40% off, plus an additional 30% off. Too good to be true! He picked out 4 or 5 shirts and we went to the register and asked about the prices and she said it was an additional 30% off on top of the 50%, but not the extra 40% off. We told her that it was posted wrong in the back, but that we would still like to buy the shirts. Just before we left the store Jon looked at the receipt and it didn't add up right. So he waited in line again and asked the other cashier about it and she tried to explain it, but she couldn't.  She told us to talk to the manager. The manager was very rude and told us it was correct, but when Jon tried to show her that it didn't take the 50% off she became even more rude and so he said he just wanted to return everything. The manager said her would have to get back in line (after we had already waited twice!) Once she finally returned everything she said, "don't ever come back!" Needless to say we will never step foot in that store again! What a way to start the holiday season!

Baby Andrew

We were also excited to have everyone here so we could see Andrew, Nic and Tammy's cute little guy! He is so cute and all the kids loved dotting on him! Here are all the Arnold grand kids together prior to leaving for our cruise!
