After church we headed down to Planet Hollywood to watch the taping of the Miss USA Pageant. It was fun to see so many people all dressed up to watch the pageant. I don't know anything about beauty pageants, but we had some girls sitting in front of us with sashes from the Miss Galaxy Pageant. You should have seen the tiara they had with them, it was huge and covered in crystals (or what ever those crowns are made of)! Pageant people take these events seriously and it was neat to hear people talking about who they wanted to win. The girls enjoyed seeing all the contestants in their beautiful gowns, but I loved when Aubrey would lean over and tell me one of them was missing part of their dress! We weren't there to cheer for anyone specific, but in the end we wanted Miss Virginia to win, but she took second to Miss Michigan.
The show was aired live for the East Coast, but wasn't shown until 7pm in Vegas. Madelyn wanted to watch it again to see if she was on tv and she was! There were two different times that we saw her standing up cheering when they were showing the audience! She was so excited to see herself on national television!

I ended up just watching the last ten finalist. How fun you got to go and Madelyn was on TV. Fun memories.
