The Polar Express!

This whole trip to Heber came about because Grandma and Papa wanted to take all the grand kids to ride the Polar Express! It was a real treat! We got to the station around 4:30pm and were able to board the train shortly after that. The kids were so excited to ride the train, read the story, and see Santa!
All the grand kids in front of our train car! We had 38 in our family plus we had an extra ticket so Sis. Sanders, from Lompoc, came with us too!
Our tickets!
The whole group! All the kids wore their pajamas, just like in the book!
Emmalee and Madelyn waiting to leave the station!
Agnese and Aubrey!
Carson and Braden!
Before we headed to the train station grandma had given each of the kids a little backpack with crayons, a coloring book, and crayons to keep then busy on the train!
On board the train there are several elves and helpers who were passing out hot chocolate and cookies!
The elves were really cute with the kids and asked them what they wanted for Christmas and then shared what their jobs were at the North Pole!
On our way to the North Pole they handed out a copies of the "Polar Express", so we could follow along. Then we sang some Christmas Carols as we approached the North Pole, where we saw Santa waiting for us! The kids were really excited to see him waving in the snow and then they announced that he and Mrs. Claus would be making their way on board the train!

The kids watching for Santa!
Madelyn telling Santa what she wants for Christmas. After Santa talked with the kids he handed them their own silver bells! One of my favorite Christmas memories of my mom was the year that she read the Polar Express to us and gave each of us a silver bell. I still have my silver bell and hang it on our Christmas tree every year. It makes me happy to know that our kids can hang their silver bells on the Christmas tree every year and remind them of the sweet memories that we made this year!
Braden and Carson showing off their bells!
Mrs. Claus sharing her recipe for the yummy chocolate chip cookies they served on the train!
And finally, the conductor came around and punched every ones tickets! He didn't punch them quite like they do in the movie, but the kids loved it just the same! Thank you Grandma and Papa for creating a wonderful Christmas memory our kids will never forget!
