Back in January Jon saw a great deal on a 7 day cruise and we decided to book it to celebrate our 10th Anniversary! I thought the day would never get here, but the day finally came! The kids were able to stay in Lompoc and spend time with Grandpa & Grandma Arnold, Uncle Jared, Auntie Annette, Uncle Nic, Auntie Tammy and their cousins! We are so thankful to have family who were willing to take care of them for a whole week and knowing they would have a great time!
Jon and I arrived in Long Beach around 3pm and were excited to get on the ship and start our vacation! But to our surprise the ship had just pulled into port and we were delayed about 7 hours! The previous cruise had to go back to Cabo because the Captain on the ship had a stroke. It was a crazy night, but we finally got on the boat around 9:30 pm, had dinner around 10:30pm and set sail around midnight!

At Sea!
November 30 & December 1 , 2009
The first two days of our cruise we were at sea and we just enjoyed hanging out on the ship and exploring all that it had to offer, and I didn't take very many pictures!
Formal night in the Golden Pearl Dinning Room! Lobster and Prime Rib!
Yum!
Notice the retracktable roof on this boat?
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
December 2, 2009
Our first port was Puerto Vallarta. We didn't have any plans or prearranged excursions, but we knew there would be opportunities to go and do things once we got off the ship. We decided to go on a Canopy Adventure! On our way to the Canopy area our driver stopped at a few places to take pictures and on the way back we stopped at a Tequila factory and a cathedral. Our Canopy adventure consisted of 10 zip lines and it was so awesome! There were some long lines and some very high lines! A great adventure we will never forget!
All the roads in Puerto Vallarta are cobblestone, even new ones!
Getting our gear on for the zip lines!
This guy didn't know very much English, but he said his name was Ricky Ricardo. So I asked where Lucy was and he said she was home making money.
This was our last line and I think they said it was over 600 feet! We were flying!
After the adventure!
The Tequila factory was interesting. We thought we were going to an actually factory, but this is what we pulled up to...
It's all outside and it's a small operation that only supplies the local area. It was an interesting process, but the most interesting fact was they only start one batch a month.

Mazatlan, Mexico
December 3, 2009
Mazatlan is the largest port in Mexico and we had to take a shuttle from the boat over to this pink building and then take a taxi into the town.
We ended up getting to the pink building and got suckered in to going to a timeshare spill, but it worked out to our advantage! They paid for our taxi ride to and from the timeshare, paid for our lunch (which was the best food!), and we got to hang out on their beach for the day. It turned out to be a timeshare owned by an LDS family and our sales person was a retired Canadian and was not pushy at all! It took about 45 minutes and then we spent the rest of the time eating lunch and walking up and down the beach! The most exciting part of the day was the open air taxi rides!
The open air taxi ride to the beach area!
Can you see our ship?
Walking on the beach in Mazatlan! (it turns out that is our waiter on the beach!)

The port!
We weren't in port for very long, but when we got back on the boat we decided to go on the water slide! We went down the slide, but the water was so cold! So then we sat in the sun and did some reading and took a few more pictures before we left!
Mazatlan is the largest port in Mexico and these were all the new cars just brought into the port!

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

This is the second time we have been to Cabo and we decided to take a self guided tour! It was pretty fun to just take a map and wander through the town! We saw a cathedral, a few schools, a mall, the history museum, a dentist office, the marina, lots of partially constructed buildings and more!
Street Sign in Cabo are sponsored by different companies, gotta love this sponsor!
One of the school yards we walked by where the kids were playing soccer!
Cactus at the Flag monument, that didn't have a flag!

Final Day at Sea!
December 5, 2009
The last day of our cruise was at sea. It was a really windy day and the water was a little rough and we could really feel the ship moving! In the morning we packed up our stuff and then relaxed in the hot tub, got a game of golf in, and enjoyed the yummy food and entertainment!
Jon challenged me to a rematch of mini-golf. It was a really windy day which made it difficult, but I still beat him!
Our last picture as we made our way off the ship on Sunday morning! It went by fast, but I know we will be back again!

Looks like a lot of fun. Like the Ricky Ricardo joke!
