Police Safety Day at Kiddie Kollege

This morning was Police Safety Day at preschool for Carson and Aubrey and I were able to tag-a-long!  The kids thought is was awesome!  They had different units from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department come to speak with the kids and the parents!  They had a detective come and speak to the parents about being involved in what are kids are doing and knowing their friends and things you need to know if your child were to go missing (it was geared for teenagers, but it is good to know for the future).  While the parents were with the detective the kids met with McGruff and watched a video about not playing with guns (that was Carson's take on it).
Carson and McGruff (Aubrey wouldn't go near McGruff, she is afraid of people dressed in costumes when you can't see their real face!)
They had a SWAT truck that the kids thought was pretty cool to climb into, especially the look out in the middle of the truck!
The littlest and newest members of the SWAT team!
There were two Mounties, which Aubrey thought were pretty cool!
They even let the kids pet the horses!
Here is the DARE truck!
The kids were able to climb into the front seat of the squad car and blast the horn and talk on the loud speaker!
This is Jake, their Narcotics dog!  He was really friendly!  Carson and Aubrey really liked him!
This is the other K-9, West, Aubrey wasn't too sure about him.  According to her, he was too big!
Jake really liked Carson and kept jumping up on him!

They also had a search and rescue boat to check out and they had a police helicopter fly over the school!  Pretty amazing to have all that put together for our Preschoolers, but it is something they will be talking about for a while!

I was there and missed so much. I didn't even see McGruff, missed the helicopter, and had no idea what the K-9 dogs names were. What was I doing?

I think that it is great that they involved the parents and not just "talk" to the kids. Sounds like it was a well planned program that the kids all benefited from.
