As part of our New Year's Resolutions we decided as a family that we wanted to read more! Jon and I agreed that we would each read 24 books (I know that doesn't sound like a lot to many of you, but I'm not a reader) and Madelyn wants to read 50.
One of our nieces received the latest Harry Potter DVD for Christmas and got us talking about Harry Potter. The first Harry Potter book came out in 1998, but I always said I wasn't into sci-fi type books and never read it. Then the kids wanted us to read it to them after hearing their cousins talk about it.
I had a few minutes before I had to get Aubrey from preschool, so I stopped into the DI to see if they had any fun finds. I found myself looking for books to read and found the Harry Potter books and bought the first one. Jon and I took turns reading the book and we both finished it the day we got home from Disneyland. So we ran over to the DI to see if they had the other books and the video. We found the second and third books and the first movie on vhs and then headed home to watch the movie! I have to say after reading the book it was hard to watch the movie because I pictured things differently in my head! Jon and I are now on the second book and I have started reading the first book to the kids!
