Halloween Costumes

Since we aren't going to be in town for Halloween, I decided I wasn't going to buy costumes! I thought the kids could come up with a costume using something we already had. Aubrey decided she would wear the Tigger costume, which is what Carson wore for Halloween in 2004 (size 12 months). I wanted Aubrey to be Fancy Nancy, but ended up with Sleeping Beauty! Madelyn borrowed a dress from a friend and was a Flapper!
Ever since Carson did the Jedi Training at Disneyland, I have wanted to make him a "Jedi robe"! I did some thinking and remembered that I had some patterns from costumes that my mom had made when I was a kid! I found the pattern that my mom used to make Julianne a princess and I noticed it had instructions for a robe with a hood.
I wasn't quite sure what I was doing! I haven't done much in the way of sewing clothes! I had to make a few changes to the pattern, but it worked out great! I think next year I will try sewing some more costumes!
But with a little patients and 2 hours without kids, I was able to get it done! Some minor adjustments, but for now this Jedi is ready to go!
Carson thought the pointy hood made him look like a witch, but I think he is the cutest Jedi ever!
