Happy Birthday Jon!
Today is his special day and I want him to know how special he is to me and to our kids! He always puts me and the kids first, he sacrifices sleep to teach seminary, he works long hours so I can stay home with the kids and go to school and so much more! He always encourages us to do our best and supports us 100% along the way! He doesn't like the spotlight, so I'll leave it at that! But I want him to know that I love him so much and I am so thankful for all that he is and for what he enables me to be! We love you Jon and we hope that you have the best birthday ever!
I had my last day of all day clinical today, so he was home with the kids for most of the day! His mom was traveling through, so she hung out with them too! Jon's mom watched the kids for us so we could go out and celebrate! But before we could go to dinner the kids wanted Jon to open his present and blow out the candles on his birthday cake (so they could eat some of the cake while we were gone)!
The kids couldn't wait for him to open his present! I was excited for him to open it too, but I thought he already knew what I got him! He is hard to surprise, but I'm also not very good at keeping secrets either! But he was surprised and said he hadn't expected it!
He has been wanting an iphone for a while, but since work pays for his phone we didn't want another phone! So we went with the next best thing, an itouch!
Here is hi birthday cake! I have been wanting to try out this cake recipe for awhile and I finally did it! I think it turned out great and it tasted really good!
Jon decided that he better not blow out the candles on the cake with this being cold season! His comment was, "Who decided we should blow out candles on a cake?" So he put the candles out with his fingers instead!
Then we headed to Ruth Chris' Steak house! It was great! They weren't kidding when they say the plates are hot! When they brought out our plates, they tell you to hold your napkin up over yourself. I wasn't sure if they were serious, but they are! The plates are sooooo hot and little specks of juice were going all over!
We ended the night at our usual spot, Target! Then we came home to find this....
Our water kicked the bucket! Thankfully there wasn't too much water in the garage, but the stand was soaked and soggy!
