Labor Day Weekend!

We spent Labor day weekend at my parents house in St. George! Julianne and Andy were also able to come down for the weekend. Our kids were excited to see their cousins and to see Lily for the first time and meet Agnese! Agnese is from Latvia! My parents met her when they were serving their mission in the Baltic Stakes back in 2006, she was 13 or 14 at the time and was one of their translators. She has been living with my parents since mid-July and has been attending high school and Dixie State College. She will be living with them until July 2010.

When we arrived on Friday night the house was busy with teenagers down in the basement! Agnese had some of her friends over and they were playing pool, chess, and just hanging out! My dad was in heaven! It reminded me of when we had Regional Youth Conference and our stake were the host and we would have lots of youth over at our house after all the days activities!

Saturday we headed to Quail Creek, in Hurricane, with the boat and jet skis! The kids and I haven't been out on the boat since last summer and I can't remember the last time Jon has been out on the boat or jet skis! We all had a blast! Madelyn and Carson had fun riding on the raft, but Aubrey wouldn't even sit on it! Aubrey had fun riding on the boat and the jet ski with Papa and Grandma! Agnese invited her friends, Trey and Jonathan, to come along and our kids became instantly attached to them! They loved having older kids to play with them!
Aubrey wouldn't get on the raft, but she had fun riding on the boat and on the jet skis!
Braden, Andy, Taylor, and Madelyn were the first out on the raft! I don't think Braden and Taylor were fans of this!

Stopped for a minute after we almost fell off!
Madelyn, Me, and Carson! Carson bounced all over the place and got a little scared when we almost fell off the raft!
Carson, Jon, and Madelyn on the raft! They had so much fun out there! They kept telling us to go faster, but I was worried about Carson falling off!
Madelyn on the boat!

Sunday morning we attended my parents ward and Aubrey sat on Agnese's lap the entire time. During which she kept asking, "why is Jonathan here?" and "where is Trey?", since she saw them blessing the sacrament. After church we just hung out and relaxed at the house. That afternoon we had a wonderful meal of ribs, salad, potatoes and rolls. It was so good! Before we headed home to Vegas, Morag showed me and Julianne how to make these cute and easy receiving blankets. While Morag was showing us how to make the blankets, Agnese and Jonathan were putting all the pictures from the weekend on our camera. When we out on the boat I dropped my camera in the water! I was able to get it quickly, but it still got a little wet and I wanted to make sure it was completely dry before I took any pictures! Thankfully the camera still works and thanks Agnese and Morag for sharing your pictures with us!

Aubrey and Jonathan eating Grandma's yummy brownies!
Before we left Aubrey started to have a fit because she didn't want to leave until "M-Agnese" painted her nails! Aubrey called Agnese, "Magnese", all weekend! Sorry Agnese, but our kids had so much fun with her! They loved playing with her and her friends and can't wait to see her again!
One of the funniest things on Sunday was after we picked the kids up from Primary. The kids said that Braden had to go see the Bishop. What? During Primary they asked if anyone had a Birthday and Braden raised his hand and got a coupon to get a treat from the Bishop! It was hilarious! The Bishop was out of town, but one of his counselors went into the Bishop's office and gave all of the kids some candy (and I mean full sized Starburts)! He said that it's hard for kids to go to three hours of church when it' not their home ward. I'm sure the next time we visit their ward our kids will be knocking on the Bishop's door looking for some candy!
