Madelyn's Baptism was a very special day! We had a lot of family travel to be with us to celebrate this important occasion. I know many people are proud of Madelyn and the decision she has made to follow her Savior's example and Choose the Right!
Baptisms are done as a Stake in the North Las Vegas Stake and the El Rancho ward was the host ward for January. Parts of the songs were sung by children in Spanish. I thought that was neat and it reminded Jon that this was the first time he had performed a Baptism in English. There were a total of seven kids being baptized today. Madelyn and her friend Megan Blackham were baptized from our ward. (I can't believe that I didn't get a single picture of Madelyn and Megan!)
Our ward was the last to be excused to the baptismal font and Madelyn said to me the water was cold! But that she felt clean! Madelyn quickly changed into her beautiful white dress, but mom forgot the brush, so we had to borrow Megan's! Madelyn was excited to wear my mom's necklace and it was perfect for the occasion.
Sister Concoby gave the talk on the Holy Ghost. It was very similar to the talk that we have heard Grandma McCune give at Madison's Baptism.
Family shot after Madelyn's Confirmation!
Dad and Mom with Madelyn
Grandma and Grandpa Arnold came from Lompoc to celebrate this special weekend!
Papa and Grandma McCune came down from St. George for this special day!
Madelyn and Sis. Dooley, her primary teacher. Sis. Dooley made the Baptism book.
(Sis. Dooley was released as her teacher on Sunday and called to serve in our new Relief Society Presidency. Madelyn was pretty sad about the news!)
Madelyn was baptized and confirmed by her dad. Those who stood in the circle for the confirmation: Dad, Grandpa Arnold, Papa McCune, Uncle Kurt, Uncle Brian, Uncle Andy, Uncle Jason, Uncle Nic, and the Bishop.
