Baby Jesus' Birthday

Yesterday I pulled out the ladder and finally got our Christmas "stuff" out! I know, we are a little slow in getting it out, but things are finally getting back to normal at our house. The kids wanted to get everything out, but I was not that ambitious, so we just got the "kids" nativity out for them to play with.

This morning after dropping Aubrey off to preschool, I was asking Carson about Christmas and what he wanted for Christmas. I didn't have high expectations for what his response would be, but it was his actions, along with Aubrey, that made me smile.

Mom: "What is Christmas about?"
Carson: "Santa bringing lots of presents!"

I then told him that we celebrate the birth of Jesus at Christmas. It was a brief conversation, as we were out running errands, but he was listening. Shortly after we got home from preschool and running errands, Carson and Aubrey sat down at the counter in front of the nativity. Before I could even say anything I hear the two of them singing "Happy Birthday to baby Jesus" and giving him kisses! It was so cute and all I could do is smile!

Cute! Your kids are sweet. I love the kid friendly nativity. That is such a great idea!

My kids have asked if it is Jesus's birthday, then why don't we make him a cake. We may have to start that as a tradition.
