We wasted no time getting our Summer vacation started! We booked a very last minute cruise to Alaska, leaving Seattle, Washington on June 9th! We decided to make a road trip out of it! We picked the kids up after they got out of school and headed to Reno.
Headed to Reno
We stayed the night at Harrah's in Reno (where we had a nice suite). After a rough nights sleep, we woke up and headed to Jen and Earl's, in Sherwood, OR. It was a long treck from Reno to Sherwood (more than 8 hours Earl!), but we made it! Tom-Tom took us through every small town between Reno and Sherwood, it was nuts! We stayed Friday night with Jen and Earl and had to leave for Seattle Saturday morning.

We finally made it to Oregon
One of the many construction areas and one lane roads Tom-Tom took us on, but look how green it is!
Heading over the bridge from Oregon to Washington
Our first stop after crossing into Washington was a Starbucks! Carson thought we were going to make him drink coffee and said "I refuse to drink it!" We didn't want coffee, but wanted to stop for hot chocolate since Jon had a Starbucks gift card and we have heard people say their hot chocolate is the best (I would have to disagree with that though). I couldn't believe how many Starbucks we saw, especially in the Seattle area, they are literally across the street from each other!
Carson and his hot chocolate!
Downtown Seattle as we were driving in! Almost to our destination!
