First Day of School Review!

I have to take a minute and write down the events of today! Having "8" kids is crazy and very busy and every minute of my day was filled doing something from the moment I got up to the minute I went to bed! I am exhausted just trying to recount the events of this day!

6:15 am- up and in the shower6:30 am- wake up the kids
6:30-7:15 am- kids get ready, eat breakfast, load backpacks
7:25 am- take pictures of kids before we leave for school
7:30 am- leave house
7:40 am- drop Devan off at the Heath's to catch the bus
7:50 am- drop Britney, Alexa, and Brad off at school
8:00am- quick trip to Walmart to get a few things
8:30am- home from Walmart
9:00am- clean up kitchen, make cookies for after school snack (chocolate chip & "cookiedoodles" (snickerdoodles)), do laundry, start on crayons
12:15pm- Fridge repairman shows up to fix leak
1:45pm- Repairman leaves, continue working on crayons
2:10pm- pick younger kids up from school
I asked Brad how his first day of school was and his response was,"First grade is so much better than Kindergarten! I got a white and green pencil box, instead of a pink one!" I was happy to hear he had a great day! I was a little worried about how he would handle the transition to being at school all day! The night before when we were talking about going back to school he said, "We don't go there to learn! We go, get a snack, and go home!"

2:20pm- home from school, get kids snacks, Britney does homework, Alexa & Madelyn play outside, Carson & Brad play Star Wars, Aubrey bugs dog, Natalie napped, and I finish crayons
3:45pm- get Devan from the bus
4:00pm- home and getting ready for soccer
4:20pm- leave for soccer
4:30pm- drop Alexa and Brad off for practice with Devan & Carson, while I run Britney to her practice at 5pm
5:45pm- pick up Alexa, Brad, Devan, and Carson
6:00pm- pick Britney up from soccer
6:15pm- stop and pick up milk (already used all 4 gallons since Friday! I'm not used to going through that much milk in a short period of time!)
6:25pm- home cooking dinner
6:45pm- feed kids dinner
7:15pm- clean up dinner, kids start nightly routine (showers, pj's, lay out clothes, etc.)
8:00pm- make lunches and get backpacks ready for tomorrow, go over paperwork with Devan & talk about hand writing, kids have a few crayons for dessert
These are some fun "crayons" (aka pretzels and candy melts) that I found online and thought I would make them for the kids for their first day of school! They were a little work, but I think they turned out really cute and I look forward to making them again for our kids first day of school! Devan thought they were just homemade crayons and tried to use one to write! Funny girl!

8:30pm- kids in bed, reading books
Natalie and Aubrey wanted me to read to them, but I enlisted Carson to read to them so I could finish cleaning up the kitchen and switch laundry. These girls have read "Pinkalicious", Purplicious", and "Goldilicious" every night that we have been here!

9:00pm- lights out for kids and I sit down to try and call Jon
9:30pm- all kids actually asleep, I work on laundry and Jon returns call
10:30pm- Time to get to bed so we can do it again tomorrow!
