June 2008

May 31, June 1-4
We started June with a trip to one of our favorite places, Knott's Berry Farm! Our good friend, Lane, got us a great deal on a hotel so we decided to take 5 days and have some fun! We stayed at the Fairfield Inn, just steps away from Disneyland! We enjoyed having the park to ourselves once again and rode all our favorite rides, including the new Pony Express ride!

Our little Linus, Carson even caries his own yellow blankie!

Carson on Snoopy's Camp Bus! We even got Aubrey to ride it and she says it is her favorite ride!

Aubrey and Madelyn after riding Lucy's Tugboat!

Carson, Madelyn and Jon riding the Log Ride, Carson's favorite! We rode it so many times I lost count!

June 12-14 Shadow Creek Young Men/Young Women Leadership Training, Mt. Pleasant, UT
I went with the youth for our 3rd Annual Leadership training which took us to the Manti Pageant and Mt. Pleasant. My parents were able to watch the kids, since Jon started his new work schedule on June 7th, which means he works on Saturday! I took the kids to my parents house on the 12th and I was picked up in St. George on the 13th. On our way to the pageant we stopped at Cove Fort to eat lunch and take a tour. I don't know how many times we have driven by that exit, but it was the firs time I had stopped for a tour. We took the youth to the Pageant and the following day we had a training and then headed back to St. George to spend a few days with my parents!

June 14
Today was Grandpa (Jon's Dad) Arnold's Birthday, but was also a sad day as Jon's Grandma Parrish passed away. It is always hard to say goodbye to someone you love, but it was a time to celebrate as she would be reunited with her sweet husband Clyde. It also allowed us to spend some time with family! We were able to stay at my sister's house with Nate, Jen and the boys!
June 15, Father's Day!
Madelyn, Aubrey and Carson dancing for Grandpa before church on Father's Day! We only got to see Jon for a short time on Father's Day as he and his dad headed to Salt Lake to help with the funeral arrangements for his Grandma. The kids and I stayed at my parents house for a few days before we headed to Juliann and Andy's house. Thanks again Julianne and Andy for letting us use your house while you were in Oregon!
June 17-21 Unexpected trip to Salt Lake

Lunch at the Mayan in Salt Lake!

Aubrey, Cole, Madelyn, Uncle Nate, Josh and Carson at the Mayan!

Cole and Carson enjoying hot coco at Dee's after the viewing on Wednesday, June 18 (it was late and Dee's was the only place that was open!). After the viewing we went to the house where Jon's Grandpa Parrish grew up and played for a little bit. Walt and Maddie live there now and they have a huge yard with a creek that ran behind it and the kids just ran around chasing their two dogs.
Carson swimming in the pool at Julianne and Andy's house!

Cole and Aubrey swimming!

Aubrey with a flower from Great Grandma Parrish's services.

Madelyn with a rose after the graveside services.

After the funeral service and luncheon we all headed to the mall to have a family picture taken. Jon's mom wanted to have a family picture with everyone since we didn't know when we would all be together again. This allowed for us to have our first family picture since Carson and Aubrey were born! I know that sounds crazy, but it is true!
Kiddie Kandid did a good job working with all of us. The poor girl had to take a lot of pictures though! The girl would say 1, 2, and Aubrey would automatically look away at the flash on the left! We finally got a few shots that work though!

On our way home from our week long trip, we stopped and had dinner with our friends Pierre, Kristy and Belle. We went to the old Spaghetti Factory and filled up before we hit the road and headed to my parents house to spend the night!

Jon, thanks for telling me you were up here. Jerk. Ha ha just kidding. You look like you're having a BLAST On the log ride!

Did you see the BYU game? Great game. Utah won, too bad. Lets hope we can beat Washington and UCLA.
