I have been admiring the antiqued pictures that Deseret Book sells for quite sometime and wanted one of the San Diego Temple. Although I liked the Salt Lake temple, I wasn't as fond of the one of the San Diego Temple and neither was Jon.
When we were in San Diego we made a point of getting to the temple so we could attend a session and take a picture! After our session we took several pictures of the temple in hopes of one of them turning out so we could hand it in our home!
When we got home from our trip I was so excited to edit the pictures and make one work! I edited the picture and sent it to Costco to be printed. I had it printed as a 16x20, thinking that would be large enough to put over our fireplace, WRONG! The picture was way too small for the space! I went back to the drawing board and decided maybe I would be better off finding a frame I liked first and then get the picture printed!
I headed to Michael's and was less than impressed with the selection of frames and knew JoAnn's would have similar selections. I wanted a thick chunky frame for our picture! Our Michael's was going out of business so I started looking at the clearance items when I found a frame made for a collage of pictures. It was the chunkiest frame I could find and I actually liked it! But I would need a custom mat cut for this frame, since it was not a normal picture size. Michael's wanted more than what I was going to pat for the frame, just to cut a single mat to fit in the frame. Then I remember Jen having pictures framed at Hobby Lobby! I called to find out what it would cost to have the cut the mat and it was a fraction of the price of Michael's and it included mounting the picture in the frame!
I hopped in the car and headed to the other side of town with the picture and the frame. Now I had to decide on a white mat! I never knew there were so many choices of white! In less than an hour the guy at Hobby Lobby cut a double mat, mounted the picture, and put a new hanging wire on the frame! He was great! I am so happy with how it turned out and Love how it looks hanging in our home!
I wish this was a better picture of the picture!
