Over the weekend I spent several hours preparing for my Biology 189 class. This is a class that I have put off taking for about a year, due to all the negative things that people I have talked to say about this course. Needless to say I wasn't sure if I would be able to handle it, but I am taking it none the less. My first exam was schedules for Wed., Sept. 17, but our teacher gave us an extensions, which I was very grateful. I was very nervous about this exam because my teacher said it was the "make it or break it" exam, if you do well on this exam then the rest of the semester should go well! Talk about pressure! I took advantage of the weekend to study like crazy! At one point Jon asked me if I had the book memorized yet! This morning I found out all the studying paid off! I got a 95 % on the exam! One exam down, three to go! Thanks Jon for putting up with me over the weekend with all my Biology stuff!
Now let me back up a few days...On Thursday, Sept. 18, Uncle Jared and Brad spent the day with us before they headed up to Cedar City. Carson, Brad and Aubrey played the wii, swam in the pool, jumped on the trampoline and just played all day! After dinner when Jon got home we took the kids to Krispy Kreme's to see the doughnuts being made and to get some tasty treats! Thanks for visiting with us! We will have to make it to Lompoc so we can see the girls!
Saturday, Sept. 20, we ran Aubrey for her blood work and then took the kids to breakfast! We ran over to the outlet mall to looks for some dress clothes for Jon. Jon watched the BYU Cougars whoop the Cowboys while I did some studying and the kids played upstairs. The kids were good about keeping themselves busy and out of our hair! It is amazing how well they can play to together when they want to!
Sunday morning we received a call from a member of the stake high council who wanted to meet with Jon. We were not surprised by the call, but we were surprised as to why he wanted to meet with Jon. Jon has been serving in the Elders Quorum Presidency in our ward for awhile now and we have been waiting for the phone call that he is going to be released (not that he wanted to be released, but we knew that it was time). Well, that' not what this phone call was about! They want him to teach seminary! And not at our building, but the old stake center which is a good 15 minute drive. That's not all, seminary at that building starts at 5:45 am! We were both were so surprised at this calling! He has been attending Bro. Blake's seminary class this week as a trial run to see if it will work before he accepts the calling. He taught this morning and I'm sure he was great! This will be an adjustment for him, but it will definitely help our family in our scripture studies!
