Aubrey has been potty trained for almost a year now, but she has been having accident after accident for the past month or so. Someone mentioned to me that she might have a bladder infection, which would not be a big surprise after the past few years of bladder infections that I have had. I took her into the doctor and they did a "pee test", which came back negative for any infection. After about a hour of being in the doctor's office and five trips to the bathroom (and yes, she went to the bathroom all five times!), we left the office with an order for a blood test and a referral to go to a pediatric urologist.
Saturday morning we took Aubrey to the Qwest Lab to have the blood work done to see if she had diabetes. She was so good! She didn't cry at all! (Thank heavens Madelyn has never had to have blood work done!) Once they got the needle in she just looked at me and said, "Mommy it hurts!" I hate having my blood drawn and it hurt even more having to watch Aubrey have her blood taken.
I received a call from the doctor this afternoon and she let me know that everything came back normal and if things don't improve over the next week to take her to pediatric urologist. I think that things are getting a little better, but I still don't understand what the problem is. Is she just "lazy" or is there something really wrong? I don't want to put her through a bunch of test if there is nothing wrong! If nothing else I guess we go back to the ol' potty treats for going on the toilet! Have you ever had this kind of problem? The joys of parenting!

Well that doesn't sound fun! I hope you figure it out! That is a bummer!
How frustrating! I always struggle with should I go for the extra tests or just wait and see what happens. It seems like I hear a lot about kids reverting and having accidents even when they have been potty trained for a while. I'm sorry I can't be of more help.
That stinks that you and Aubrey had to go through all of that, but it is peaceful to know that she doesn't have any health problems. I hope things get better!
Hey Kim! It's your cousin MariAnn! I have recently started this blogging thing and have LOVED running into family! You've got such cute kids! I'm sorry to hear about the peeing prob. Hope all goes well with that. We had to set our blog to private so if you want to view it, send us your e-mail address to notcreative@juno.com and we'll send you an invite!
Kim-
Do you remember all the bladder infections Kacee use to have when she was younger. We had to take her to a specialist(its not that bad), till they do the test. Maybe Aubrey's valve that stops the pee from going from the bladder to the kidney isn't developed all the way. The test for this isn't fun. And I mean it isn't fun! That was what was wrong with Kacee. They just gave her medication. But we had the option of operation. I'm sure Aubrey is just going thru a stage, even Katie gets lazy at times and does that. I'm sure it will pass.
