Cruisin'

Over six months ago Jon found a good deal on a 7 day cruise to Mexico on the Carnival Splendor and we planned to go before I started the Spring semester. It worked out that Nic had the same break as me, so he and Tammy decided to book it the same cruise and go with us! Well, our plans changed when Jon was watching the news in November and saw a cruise ship had caught on fire and was stranded off the coast of Baja. I quickly turned to the tv and said, "that's our ship!" Yep, our ship was stranded for several days and would result in our cruise being cancelled! We were so bummed! We were all looking forward to our trip and the much needed get away after a long, stressful first semester of nursing school! Since our time frame for re-booking were limited due to our school schedules, we opted for a 5 day cruise to Catalina and Ensenada.
After dinner on our first night we went to the disco to sign the kids up for Camp Carnival! The kids loved Camp Carnival when we cruised before and they couldn't stop talking about all the fun they were going to have this time! While at the disco they had a dance competition, Tammy won for the best "Twist" and Carson won one too!
Our first full day was at sea! The kids spent most of the day making friends and playing at Camp Carnival. They enjoyed the fact that they practically had the counselors to themselves. They played games, colored t-shirts, and went on scavenger hunts.
Our first port was Catalina. In Catalina we spent time wandering around and then letting the kids play on the beach! The weather was not really warm enough for swimsuits and playing in the water, but the kids still had fun putting their feet in the water and playing in the sand.

After dinner Aubrey's group had story time and face painting! They read s story about animals and Aubrey wanted to look like a zebra!
You can't go on a cruise without playing at least one game of miniature golf!
Sunrise in Ensenada! Nic and Jon were up early and got some pictures as we pulled into port!

A large cathedral we could see from the ship. Jon wanted to try and walk to it, but I was worried about getting lost, so we didn't!
Madelyn and Jon on the main road near the port.
On the outside of a building by the port.
The closest Carson got to Ensenada! He and Aubrey chose to stay on the ship and go to camp Carnival instead of getting off the ship!
